June 30, 2010 Declared a Philippine Holiday

Malacañang Palace has declared June 30, 2010 as a special non-working holiday. The declaration has been announced to give Filipinos a chance to witness the inauguration of Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III as the 15th President of the Philippines.

Former Makati City mayor, Jejomar "Jojo" Binay will also take his oath as the new Vice-President of the Republic. The inaugural rites is set to be held at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila and will be presided by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and House Speaker Prospero Nograles. At night, a street party will be held at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
