September 7, 2009: Philippine Non-Working Holiday

September 7, 2009 has been declared by Malacañang Palace as a Non-Working Holiday. That day is the scheduled burial of Ka Erdy Manalo, Executive Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo. On that day, also, all flags will be placed on half-mast as a symbol of national mourning. This was relayed to Bombo Radyo by Press Secretary Cerge Remonde.

September 21, 2009 is also another Non-Working Holiday in celebration of Eid'l Fitr or the end of Ramadan. This is in accordance to the President's Proclamation 1699.
