Caramoan Getaway Day 2: Manlawi Island Sandbar

When in Caramoan, you gotta go island hopping! That's all we did on our second day. From Jallores Homestay, it was just a short tricycle ride to the port. Our group of 16 had to be divided into 2 groups as only a maximum of 8 passengers are allowed in each boat. We paid each boat Php 2,000 for the whole day island hopping trip.

Our first island was Manlawi Island. (It's my  personal favorite so the other islands will have to be featured on the nexrt post, LOL!) It took us about an hour and a half to get here as our boatman's plan was to visit the farthest island first. Our timing was perfect since it was low tide and the sandbar was visible. It was almost 10 am so we rented a floating cottage for Php 200 so we can have our early lunch before we head to the next islands.

Floating cottage for rent. There are even coconut vendors going around.

Who says you can't grill on the table? Fresh fish is cheap in Caramoan, by the way.
Manlawi Island is the best place to relax and let the kids have fun by themselves. The water is not too deep and there aren't sea urchins and seaweeds around. We were also able to pull our floating cottage near our boat so we just left our things in the boat and  just brought out our packed lunch. We also brought along a grill for the fresh tuna we brought from the market that morning.

Syempre, a trip to the beach will not be complete without a jump shot, hehe!

Rap and his cousins.
The husband and I walked further towards the sandbar to have our photo shoot, of course. The view is so beautiful, even my sisters-in-law and their husbands had their own photo shoot sessions.

Then, off we went to our next island after we had our lunch.

What a lovely place! I can imagine myself eating grilled tuna and steamed rice in the floating cottage and having a dip in the clear water.
